A Citizen's Firearm Safety Course will be held on Tuesday, March 11, 2014.
The course is offered free to the public and is held at the Joe Ford Center on the campus of Gadsden State Community College from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Eighty (80) seats are available for the class and registration is required.
Please do not bring a firearm to the classroom portion of the course!
“We are pleased that so many people are interested in learning how to safely use their firearms,” says Sheriff Todd Entrekin. “Our firearms instructors do a great job teaching the public the responsibilities of ownership and use of a firearm in Alabama.”
Those who complete the classroom portion are given the opportunity to attend a range day to receive one-on-one help from Sheriff’s Office firearms instructors. The range day is held at the Owls Hollow Shooting Range.
The Owls Hollow Shooting Range is operated by the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources and maintained by the Etowah County Sheriff’s Office. The range is open to the public daily from dawn to dusk.
