Educational Mobile Unit

The Etowah County Sheriff’s Office is taking crime and substance abuse prevention on the road with a new educational mobile unit, according to Sheriff Todd Entrekin.

The mobile unit is a kid-friendly space that teaches about the dangers of crime and substance abuse. The education unit includes informative displays, educational videos and more.

“We are excited about the new opportunities we will have to teach children, and adults alike, about the harmful dangers and side effects of crime, violence and drug abuse,” says Sheriff Entrekin.

The educational mobile unit is a converted FEMA trailer that is now equipped with two flat screen TV’s, a LCD marquee sign and two large display cases that show an assortment of drugs and paraphernalia, the makings of a meth lab, contraband and various types of guns.

Sheriff Entrekin adds, “The trailer makes an excellent addition to any community event. We look forward to proactively educating the public.”
