As a small “city within the city”, the need for a specialized group of highly trained officers was identified. The Special Operations Detail (SOD) was created to respond to emergencies (security, fire safety, etc.) within the facility. This group of highly trained officers are unique in that they are not an “on call” team. They are a full time detail. Working 24 hour shifts, their primary and only duty is to maintain safety and security of the facility.
