Chemical Endangerment Arrest
(Etowah County, Alabama) An Etowah County woman has been arrested and charged with chemical endangerment of a child, according to Sheriff Todd Entrekin.
“Christie Renee Grafton, 33, of Attalla, was arrested on August 9 and is charged with one count of chemical endangerment of exposing a child to an environment in which controlled substances are ingested, produced or distributed,” states Investigator Haydyn Hedgspeth. The charge is a felony.
Grafton admitted to smoking marijuana laced with cocaine during her pregnancy. Her child was delivered prematurely in August and was transported to a Birmingham hospital.
Grafton was booked into the Etowah County Detention Center and is being held on a $25,000 property bond.
