(Etowah County, Alabama) A Gadsden man was arrested and charged in connection to a robbery, according to Sheriff Todd Entrekin.
“Allen Whitmore, 41, of Gadsden, was arrested yesterday, September 16, and is charged with one count of third degree robbery, which is a felony,” says Investigator Josh Morgan.
Whitmore allegedly forced his way into a residence located on Causey Lane in the Ivalee community, last night at approximately 9:30 p.m.
An elderly woman opened the door to the house and sustained minor injuries after being pushed down by Whitmore. He stole money, jewelry and car keys once inside the residence.
Using information gathered at the incident scene, Sgt. Tripp Noojin and Deputy Brian Smith found Whitmore hiding in the bathroom of a residence in Gadsden. All of the stolen items were recovered and returned to the rightful owner.
Whitmore is currently detained in the Etowah County Detention Center on $2,500 bond.
