Child Pornography Arrest
(Etowah County, Alabama) An Etowah County man has been arrested and charged in connection to child pornography, according to Sheriff Todd Entrekin.
Pablo Gabriel Urbina, 20, of Gadsden, was arrested and booked into the Etowah County Detention Center shortly before 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 22.
Investigator Josh Morgan says, “Urbina is charged one count of possession of child pornography and one count of production of obscene matter containing visual depiction of a person under 17 years of age involved in obscene acts, both are felonies”.
The arrest stems from a three month long investigation by several law enforcement agencies.
Officials from the Etowah County Sheriff’s Office, United States Secret Service Electronics Crimes Task Force, Department of Homeland Security Investigations and the Etowah County District Attorney’s Office carried out a search warrant last night at Urbina’s home, located on Merit Circle, Gadsden.
More than 600 pornographic images and video were discovered in Urbina’s possession. He also allegedly distributed the illegal material online. The investigation is ongoing.
Sheriff Todd Entrekin says, "We will continue to pursue those who take part in disgusting behavior of this nature. I am proud of the officers who worked tirelessly to bring an end to this predator's abusive actions."
“The exploitation of children will not be tolerated in this community,” adds Etowah County District Attorney Jimmie Harp. “I appreciate the cooperation among the various federal, state and local agencies in making the arrest in this case.”
Urbina is currently being detained in the detention center on a $250,000 cash bond.
