Warrant Unit
The Sheriff's Office Warrant Unit consists of two sworn deputies assigned to manage and serve active criminal warrants. The deputies daily pursue and arrest individuals in our area who have warrants for their arrest.

Through a partnership with the United States Marshals Service, members of the Sheriff's Office Warrant Unit are also on the front line of fugitive recovery.
Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force

In October 2008, Sheriff Todd Entrekin signed a memorandum of understanding with the United States Marshals Service to assign two, full-time deputies to the Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force. The task force's Investigative Operations Division is dedicated to investigating violent crimes, and locating and apprehending wanted criminals.

The partnership between the Etowah County Sheriff's Office and the U.S. Marshals Service is beneficial to the citizens of Etowah County. It allows for the conducting of fugitive investigations by the Warrant Division deputies, who are deputized as Special Deputy U.S. Marshals. This gives them the authority to investigate and pursue fugitives outside of their normal jurisdictions.
The Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force currently serves:
- 67 counties in Alabama
- 82 counties in Mississippi
- 13 parishes in Eastern Louisiana
- Memphis, Tennessee.
The task force is comprised of 46 law enforcement agencies combining their resources on a full-time basis, as well as a number of agencies that participate on a part-time basis.
