(Etowah County, Al) A Gadsden man has been arrested on August 9, 2022 and charged with Production of Child pornography, possession of child pornography, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor, according to Sheriff Jonathon Horton. 

 

Dawson Shane Guthrie (20) has been arrested and charged with Production of Child pornography, Possession of Child Pornography, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

 

The Etowah County Sheriff's Office received a cyber tip from ICAC (Internet Crimes Against Children) on Dawson Shane Guthrie. Investigator Brandi Fuller said after conducting an investigation of Mr. Guthrie, a search warrant was obtained for Mr. Guthrie's residence.

 

Etowah County Investigators and Rainbow City Police Department a search warrant was executed on the residence. Guthrie was found to have in his possession a video and picture of child pornography located on his cell phone device. 

 

Dawson Guthrie was taken into custody and booked into the Etowah County Detention Center. Guthrie has been charged with the above crimes and was being held on a $71,000 bond. Conditions of Guthrie's bond are no internet access, smartphones, no unsupervised contact with anyone under 18 years old, and to be supervised by Etowah County Community Corrections. 

 

The investigation is ongoing and there will possibly be more charges at a later time.
