One Arrest Made for Theft of Property

GADSDEN, AL - A Gadsden man has been arrested on theft of property charges and is facing additional charges, according to Sheriff Jonathon Horton.
Tyler Watts has been arrested and charged with Receiving Stolen Property 2nd and Theft of Property 4th, and facing further charges, according to Investigator Trent Green.
On November 18, 2024, deputies responded to a theft report at Patterson Grocery, located on Highway 411, north of Gadsden. Deputy Shari Bellew gathered information, reviewed video evidence, and identified a suspect vehicle.
While patrolling the area, Deputy Bellew located a vehicle matching the description. During a subsequent traffic stop, deputies recovered items connected to the theft, a stolen firearm reported to the Rainbow City Police Department, and a small quantity of illegal narcotics.
The stolen firearm will be returned to Rainbow City Investigators, and the illegal narcotics have been turned over to the Etowah County Drug Enforcement Unit for further investigation.
"This case highlights the dedication and proactive efforts of our deputies," said Sheriff Jonathon Horton. "Their quick response and thorough investigation demonstrate the commitment we have to keeping our community safe."
Tyler Watts is currently being held in the Etowah County Detention Center.
