November 21, 2024

Boaz man arrested for Theft of Property 2nd for the theft of livestock, according to Sheriff Jonathon Horton.

Jonathan Ross (42) of Boaz has been charged with Theft of Property in the Second Degree, a felony offense.

The arrest follows an investigation into the theft of a horse reported on George Johnson Road. Investigators worked to identify the suspect, leading to Ross's arrest on November 20, 2024.

"Theft of property, particularly livestock, is a serious matter. This type of crime not only causes financial loss but also disrupts the lives of our citizens who depend on these animals for recreation and companionship," said Sheriff Horton.

Ross is currently being held at the Etowah County Detention Center at time of this release. His bond has been set at $2,500.

Sheriff Horton emphasized the importance of community cooperation in cases like this: "We are grateful for the tips and information provided by local residents, which played a role in the swift resolution of this case."
