Burglary/Theft Related Arrest

(Etowah County, AL) A Boaz man has been arrested for Theft related charges according to Sheriff Jonathon Horton.

Joshua Vaughn Smith has been arrested and charged with  2 counts of Burglary 3rd, 2 counts of Theft of Property 4th, Attempted Theft of Property, Unlawful Breaking and Entering a Vehicle and Criminal Mischief 3rd, states Investigator Shannon Thomas.

August 20th, 2022, the offender Joshua Vaughn Smith, broke into a building and vehicle and took items at three different residences on Hubbard Rd.

Smith was caught in the act by an individual of one of the residences. He was detained until Etowah County Deputies arrived. 

Smith was detained and transported to the Etowah County Detention  Smith was heavily under the influence of illegal narcotics at the time of his arrest. He was interviewed at a later time by investigations and gave a confession of the incident.

Smith is currently in the Etowah County Detention Center on $12,500 in bonds.
