DRUG TRAFFICKING ARREST

Friday October 14, 2022

(Etowah County, Alabama) A Boaz Man has been arrested with drug charges in Etowah County, according to Sheriff Jonathon Horton. 

CHRISTOPHER JAMES COFIELD (43) of Boaz, Al is charged with Three (3) counts of Drug Trafficking (Methamphetamine), Two (2) counts of Unlawful Distribution of a Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine), One (1) count of Unlawful Distribution of a Controlled Substance (Marijuana), One (1) count of Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine), One (1) count of Unlawful Possession of Marijuana First, and One (1) count of Possession of a Pistol by a Violent Felon.  

On October 12, 2022 The Etowah County Drug Enforcement Unit executed a Search Warrant at the residence of Christopher James Cofield located at 2172 Buffington Road Boaz, Al 35956. The Search Warrant followed an investigation that consisted of Drug Sales from the residence.  During the course of the investigation The Etowah County Drug Enforcement Unit recovered approximately 1lb of Methamphetamine, a quantity of Marijuana, and a firearm.            Christopher James Cofield was arrested and is being held in the Etowah County Detention Center on a $1,185,000.00 property bond.

The Etowah County Drug Enforcement Unit, Etowah County Sheriff's Office, Gadsden Police Department, ALEA, the FBI North Alabama Criminal Enterprise Task Force, and the FBI Safe Streets Task Force participated in the case.
