" METHAMPHETAMINE SEIZURE CALLED BIGGEST IN ETOWAH COUNTY HISTORY"  

Tuesday March 14, 2023

(Etowah County, Alabama) One individual has been arrested with drug charges on one of the largest drug seizures in Etowah County, according to Sheriff Jonathon Horton. 

Lindsey Michelle Hampton (39) of Hokes Bluff Alabama is charged with two counts (2) of Drug Trafficking (Methamphetamine), One count of Trafficking Opium (Hyrocodone), One count of Trafficking Opium (Oxycodone), and One count of Unlawful Possession of Marijuana First.

On March 9, 2023 Agents with the Etowah County Drug Enforcement Unit executed a search warrant on a camper that Lindsey Michelle Hampton was staying in, located in the western part of Etowah County just outside of the Attalla City Limits.  The search warrant revealed just over 22 pounds of Methampehtamine, Hydrocodone Pills, Oxycodone Pills, DiazepamPills, Marijuana, Heroin, $20,645.00 in various U.S. Currency, and one handgun.    

The search warrant followed a lengthy investigation where Agents had been receiving information that  Hampton was Trafficking large quantities of Methamphetamine from a residence in the Hokes Bluff Area.  Using different resources Agents were able to obtain a search warrant on a location that Ms. Hampton was also using in the western part of Etowah County.  

Lindsey Michelle Hampton was arrested and is being held in the Etowah County Detention Center on a $2,010,000.00 bond.

The Etowah County Drug Enforcement Unit, Etowah County Sheriff's Office, Gadsden Police Department, the FBI North Alabama Criminal Enterprise Task Force, and the FBI Safe Streets Task Force participated in the case.
